Old Looney Mill Rd & Caldwell Mill Rd over Cahaba River Tributaries Bridge Replacements Construction Cost Estimate: [$1,900,000 to $2,200,000] Location(s) - 4609 Old Looney Mill Rd, Birmingham, Alabama, 35243 - 4662 Caldwell Mill Rd, Vestavia, Alabama, 35243 All bidding questions must be submitted via the project solicitation on at online by Monday, January 20, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. Certified check or bid bond for 5 percent of total bid, made payable to the Commission of Jefferson County must accompany each bid as evidence of good faith. The maximum per contract is $10,000 for bids under $500,000 or $50,000 per contract for bids $500,000 or more. The Bid Bond shall be forfeited to Jefferson County, Alabama, as liquidated damages if the BIDDER fails to execute the Contract and provide Performance and Payment Bonds within ten (10) days after being notified of the County's intent to award the Contract. Performance Bond and Payment Bond will be required of the successful BIDDER. Performance Bond must be in the penal amount of 100% of the Contract price and Payment Bond in the penal amount of 100% of the Contract price. Bonds must be executed by a Surety company acceptable to the Commission of Jefferson County, Alabama and authorized to do business in the State of Alabama. The Contractor is Hereby Advised That the Contract is a Working Day Contract and That the Contract Time Limit of 170 Working Days Shall Be Strictly Observed. Liquidated Damages Will Be Assessed if the Contract Time is Exceeded. Liquidated Damages Shall Be Paid if Necessary, Based on the Alabama Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Highway Construction 2022 Edition, General Application Special Provision Gasp No. 22- Ld0001 *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. The work shall consist of Grade, Drain, Base, Pave, and Bridge.
