Subject to conditions prescribed by the undersigned, subcontractors are invited to prequalify for the following bid packages for the Hillcrest Phase 2 Multipurpose Clinical Research Building project: Bid Package 08440: Exterior Glazing Systems ($8.6 M) B – General Building or C-17 – Glazing Licenses Bid Package 14200: Conveying/Elevators ($1.5M) C-11 – Elevator Installation License Bid Package15300: Fire Protection ($1.1M) C-16 – Fire Protection License The University has bid and been awarded a CM at Risk Contract to DPR Construction (hereafter "CM/Contractor"). CM/Contractor is responsible for bidding and awarding all subsequent subcontractor packages, including this package. Project Information - The Multipurpose Clinical Research Building is an approximately 135,000 SF new construction of a 5 story multi-tenant building at the Hillcrest Medical Center for UC San Diego Health System. Tenant spaces include Childcare, Retail/Dining, Clinical Research and Office. The Project site is located at the intersection of First Ave and Arbor Drive. Project duration is estimated to be 22 months, commencing in August 2025 and concluding in June 2027. Early work to underground SDG&E overhead power line will take place in the first quarter of 2025. The estimated construction cost of the project is $116,000,000.00 DESCRIPTION OF WORK: -08440 – Exterior Glazing Systems: This package shall include the following general scope as applicable: Provide and install curtainwall exterior glazing system with window and wall panel system. -14200 – Conveying (Elevators): This package shall include the following general scope as applicable. Provide and install 2 passenger elevators (4 floors) and 1 freight elevator (2 floors). -15300 – Fire Protection: This package shall include the following general scope as applicable. The awarded contractor shall make best efforts to provide qualified SBEs and DVBEs with the maximum opportunity to participate. Potential bidders will be required to submit their small business outreach plan to the University as part of the prequalification process. The work described in the contract is a public work subject to section 1771 of the California Labor Code. ALL CONTRACTORS AND SUBCONTRACTORS MUST BE REGISTERED WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS (DIR) AT BID TIME. No contractor or subcontractor, regardless of tier, may be listed on a Bid for, or engage in the performance of, any portion of this project, unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 and 1771.1. This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. The successful Bidder shall pay all persons providing construction services and/or any labor on site, including any University location, no less than the UC Fair Wage (defined as $15 per hour) and shall comply with all applicable federal, state and local working condition requirements.
