This project includes the removal, disposal and replacement of the majority of the existing carpet and vinyl flooring on both levels of the library, including the flooring on the main stairs. The installation of new flooring materials will include approximately - 17, 500 SF of new carpet tile, 31,000 SF of new luxury vinyl plank flooring, and 275 SF of resilient stair treads. Existing wall base will likewise be removed, disposed of and replaced with new, in addition to new metal transition strips being installed as specified and as shown on the plans. The project also includes moving all existing shelving and furniture for the flooring installation, and relocating or reinstalling the shelving and furniture where indicated on the plans. No bid will be accepted from a contractor who is not licensed in accordance with the provisions of California Business and Professions Code Sections 7000 et seq. and regulations adopted by the Contractors' State Licensing Board, as amended. The envelope enclosing the proposal shall have stated thereon, "Redding Library Flooring Replacement Project, (Bid Negotiation 5548). Question Deadline 01/21/2025 Engineer's Estimate is $635,000.00. Contractor shall possess a Class B or C-15 license at the time bid is opened. No contractor or subcontractor may be listed on a bid proposal for this project unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code Section 1725.5. Each bid shall be made in accordance with the specifications and proposal requirements thereof. No bid will be received unless it is made on a proposal form furnished by the City Engineer. Each bid must be accompanied by cash, certified or cashier's check, or original bidder's bond made payable to the City of Redding for an amount equal to at least 10% of the total amount of the bid as a guarantee that the contractor will execute the contract in conformance with his proposal and the specifications.
