Site work and paving for a road / highway in Chicago, Illinois. Design plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
The proposed streetscape project will consist of infrastructure, pedestrian safety, and placemaking improvements with the goal of creating a unified, safe, walkable, and attractive commercial destination. This project will seek to beautify and expand public space on the block by reducing the roadway width and expanding sidewalks. Expanded sidewalks will provide more space for outdoor dining and for street trees and plantings. The goal of the project is to foster community, support the local economy, and provide more opportunities for community gatherings and events. Project is included in City of Chicago - Planning and Development Fiscal Year 2024-2028. Design Timeline: April 2023 - June 2024.Construction funded for April 2025 - November 2025. Design team identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
