Kekaha Landfill Drywall Repair Bidders are further notified of the requirements of Act 190, SLH 2011, SB 758, wherein the County of Kaua'i is required to utilize the Hawai'i Compliance Express (HCE) to obtain proof of compliance with tax, registration, and labor requirements prior to the issuance of an award. Bidders are strongly encouraged to register via HCE to allow for needed proof of compliance prior to the issuance of an award. (HRS 103D-328, HRS 103D-310, HAR 3-122- 112). The Director of Finance reserves the right to cancel this Invitation for Bid or to reject any or all bids in whole or in part if deemed to be in the best interest of the County. All prospective bidders shall have a Hawai'i State Contractor's License Type "B" or Specialty License C-5 or C-12 or C-33 or C-33a or C-33b or C-37 PRIOR to submittal of bids. A pre-bid (non-mandatory) conference is scheduled. For details, please register for this solicitation "A summary of the pre-bid or pre-proposal conference shall be issued via addendum through Public Purchase with sufficient time to consider the summary contents and any addendum generated thereof." "Persons needing an alternate format or auxiliary service at the pre-bid conference due to a disability should contact Keola Aki, email:kaki@kauai.gov not later than seven (7) working days prior to the conference." Repair, replace, tape, texture, and paint approximately 752 S.F. of drywall in the Kekaha Landfill's Shop Building and approximately 725 S.F. in the Kekaha Landfill Admin Building (if applicable) located at 6900 Kaumuali'i Hwy #A, Kekaha, HI 96752. Remove single-basin sink in men's bathroom of the "shop building" and replace with double-basin sink. Install custom oak plywood cabinets (no MDF) and stainless-steel single-basin sink in breakroom with sanded clear coat flat door finish (if applicable). All conditions that may impact the quantity, integrity, budget, or schedule of work shall be immediately brought to the attention of the Officer-In-Charge or their representative. All utility locations to be located and fully protected by the Contractor. Contractor shall coordinate staging areas and work dates with the Officer-In-Charge or their representative. All site conditions to be fully verified by the Contractor prior to start of any site work. The County will provide roll-off bins or similar equipment for the Contractor to dispose of refuse. The Contractor will be responsible for the recycling of any metal generated from the project. No metal will be accepted in roll-off bins provided by the County except for material that incidentally attached to other construction demolition material not to exceed 10% of the refuse generated on the project. Substitution of equal products must be approved by the Officer-In-Charge or their representative prior to ordering. All scheduling or impacts, damages, or removal of unauthorized material will be the responsibility of the Contractor. Attached "Existing" drawings (Harding Lawson Associates dated March, 2003) are the best information available on the existing structure. The Contractor shall verify any items that may impact work prior to bidding. Attached drawings are typical in nature. Do not scale. It is not the intent of the drawings to address safety issues. It is the sole responsibility of the Contractor to follow all Federal, State, and County safety regulations.
