Sealed bids will be accepted by the Kearney County Board of Commissioners for the purchase of "Road Gravel". The Kearney County Board of Commissioners reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informalities in the bidding. GRAVEL SPECIFICATIONS The following specifications shall be met by each bidder: Meet all the specifications of the State of Nebraska for Class A gravel; clay and silt content not to exceed five (5) percent. It shall be the duty of the contractor to remove immediately any gravel material rejected by the inspector if so ordered. Gradation Requirement, Percent Retained: Minimum-Maximum 1 inch -- 0% 3/4 inch sieve 2% 10% #4 sieve 25% 50% #10 sieve 80% 100% #200 sieve 95% 100% All gravel loaded on county trucks shall be performed on any or all days of the week between hours of 7:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. except Saturday and Sunday. The contractor must have on his property a stock pile of a minimum of 2,500 yards of road surfacing gravel at all times that shall conform to the specifications of the State of Nebraska Class A gravel. In the event the Contractor fails to have gravel available for county trucks to load, the County shall be entitled to deduct from moneys due the Contractor, as liquidated damages, an amount equal to two-hundred dollars ($200.00) per day for each working day of delay. Kearney County reserves the right to perform spot weight inspections on any load. The Contractor shall be subject to penalty as follows for supplying inadequate gravel: Total average percent retained on the No. 10 sieve: Minimum-Maximum-Percent Deduction 80% 100% 0% 75% 79% 10% 70% 74% 25% 65% 69% 50% 0% 64% Reject Bid is to reflect gravel loaded on county trucks by the supplier. The bid price will be for CYD's and be good from January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2025. For county's information include map showing suppliers gravel pit location(s) and the mileage from pit to Minden.
