Canning, QPA scanning@TheCanningGroup.org a. Demolition of Structure, including cutting and capping all utilities, removal of all site improvements, and final restoration. In addition, the vendor shall also be required to have the existing water and sewer service lateral lines disconnected at the watermain and sewer main. b. Proper asbestos remediation and removal in accordance with all Federal, State and/or local rules and regulations, including but not limited to USEPA 40 CFR 61, subpart M. c. Construction permits are required. The Construction permits will be provided by the Town of Newton Building Department Construction Official. d. The contractor shall be responsible for notifying the Construction Official of the addresses of structures to be demolished. e. Temporary safety fences shall be 6-foot chain link fencing with silt screening. Chain link fence shall be located along front and side property lines and one foot off of the rear property line. f. Contractors shall be responsible to notify and obtain written release of all utilities having service connections within the structure such as water, electric, gas, sewer, cable TV, and other connections. The approval to demolish any structure will not be given until such release is submitted and approved by the Town's Construction Department. The written release shall state that the respective service connections and appurtenant equipment, such as meters and regulators, have been removed and sealed, or plugged in a safe manner. Contractor is responsible to obtain and pay for any and all associated costs including, application fees, permits and bonds that are necessary to obtain written release from the various utility companies g. Contractors shall be responsible for the proper collection and disposal of asbestos either in the building materials (i.e., siding, insulation, etc.) or where it is used to protect pipes carrying hot water for heating. 1. The Construction Official shall be responsible for the required paperwork. The Contractor shall be responsible to verify existing conditions and the written verification of the required disposal. h. Notice to adjoining property owners shall be done by the awarded contractor. i. The contractor shall be responsible for informing the Construction Official two (2) weeks prior to the approximate date of demolition. j. Contractors shall be required during the demolition of a structure, that the premises shall be maintained free from all unsafe or hazardous conditions. This includes the restoration of established grades and the erection of temporary safety fences. k. Contractors shall be responsible to have all structures that have been left vacant for more than twenty-one (21) days to be baited for rodents by a licensed pesticide company. 1. Contractors to supply written verification to the Construction Official. l. The contractor shall be responsible for having any existing private well capped by a New Jersey licensed well driller as per N.J. regulations and written verification supplied to the Construction Official. m. Contractors shall be responsible for the location and proper closure of any existing drywells, cisterns, shallow wells i.e., points, cesspools or any subsurface disposal system for either sewage or laundry waste and also any drainage collection system on site for storm water. n. The contractor shall be responsible for the proper disposal of small amounts of household chemicals, consumer packaged pesticides, oils, paints, or other related items.
