Thomas Treatment Plant Old Clearwell Baffle Replacement Project BRIEF PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The proposed Work is generally described as follows: Furnish and install new geomembrane and concrete baffles to replace the existing baffles, modifications to existing clearwell access hatch and new ladder, miscellaneous painting of ferrous pipe in clearwell, concrete surface repairs and concrete crack repairs. The Successful Bidder will be required to furnish a Construction Payment Bond and a Construction Performance Bond (insuring/bonding company shall be rated A by AM Best) as security for the faithful performance of the contract and the payment of all bills and obligations arising from the performance of the Contract. Evaluation of Bids and the awarding of a final contract are subject to the reciprocal preference for Kentucky resident bidders pursuant to KRS 45A490 to 45A.494 and (KAR 200 5:400). No bids received. Bids shall remain subject to acceptance for 90 days after the day of bid opening or for such longer period of time to which a Bidder may agree in writing upon request of the Owner. If a Contract is to be awarded, the Owner will give the successful Bidder a Notice of Award during the period of time during which the successful Bidder s bid remains subject to acceptance. : For all further requirements regarding bid submittal, qualifications, procedures, and contract award, refer to the Instructions to Bidders that are included in the Bidding Documents. The Contract Price shall not include sales tax for building materials, fixtures, or supplies purchased by the Successful Bidder which will be permanently incorporated into a structure or improvement to real property, or will be completely consumed, in fulfilling a construction contract for the purpose of furnishing water or sewer services to the general public under KRS 139.480. The Successful Bidder agrees to utilize Kentucky Department of Revenue Form 51A383 when making sales tax exempt purchases for the Work. Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, including without limitation the right to reject any or all nonconforming, non-responsive, incomplete, unbalanced, or conditional Bids, to waive informalities, and to reject the Bid of any Bidder if Owner believes that it would not be in the best interest of Owner to make an award to that Bidder. Owner also reserves the right to negotiate with the apparent successful Bidder(s) to such an extent as may be determined by Owner. Document notes BIDDER QUALIFICATIONS & AWARD: All Bids must be in accordance with the Bidding and Contract Documents. Bids will be received on a lump sum basis as described in the Contract Documents.
