Domestic Hot Water Heater System Replacement Bidders must be pre-qualified by the New Jersey Schools Development Authority ("NJSDA") as stated in the Contract Documents, prior to the date bids are received. All bidders, their subcontractors, and their sub-subcontractors shall be registered with the New Jersey Department of Labor, pursuant to the Public Works Contractor Registration Act, N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.48 et seq. indicating compliance with the Act for work subject to the New Jersey Prevailing Wage Act (N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.25 et seq.) Contractors should submit copies of their certificate of registration with their bid and should also include copies of the certificates for each named subcontractor listed in its bid form with its bid. Sub-subcontractor certificates must be submitted prior to the sub-subcontractor providing goods or services on this Project. The Bid must contain a Bid Security in the amount of ten (10%) percent of the Bid Price, not to exceed Twenty Thousand ($20,000.00) Dollars, and Consent of surety, each in the form and manner required by the Contract Documents. No oral or other communications during the bidding process shall bind the Board except as shall be contained in a written Addendum which the Board may, in its sole discretion, issue in accordance with Applicable Law. Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31, et seq., and N.J.A.C. 17:27. It is the sole responsibility of the Bidder to ensure timely receipt of its Bid by the Board, at the place designated for opening of bids. The Board assumes no responsibility whatsoever in connection with any defects arising out of the issuance of the Contract Documents or its failure to receive Bids at the time and place required and those which may arise from delay for any reason in obtaining the Contract Documents or in the submission of a Bid, including, but not limited to, delays or failures of receipt caused by traffic delay, errors by messengers, mislabeling, misdirection from any source including the Board's personnel, misdelivery by common carrier, or any other reason. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the opening date. The Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids and/or to waive any informality in the bidding, as permitted by law, if it is in the interest of the Board to do so. When it is in its best interest to do so and to the maximum extent of its discretion under applicable law, the Board may award the Contract in whole or in part, select any combination of Bids and alternates, may waive any informalities, and may reject any or all Bids. Mercer County Special Services School District: 1. Mercer Elementary School: Domestic Hot Water Heater System Replacement, 1020 Edinburg Road, Hamilton, New Jersey 08619 The project includes, but is not limited to the follo wing items of Work: 1. Remove and dispose of existing gas-fired hot water heater plant. Disconnect hot and coldwater piping, gas supply, flue and electrical supply. 2. Furnish and install domestic hot water heater plant with expansion tank, circulating pump, thermostatic mixing valve. Reconnect hot and cold-water supply, gas supply, flue, and electrical supply. Provide new hot and cold-water shut off valves at new hot water heater. 3. Temporary protection of the existing building, site, adjacent equipment and systems while work is in progress. 4. See drawings and specifications for balance of Work. Project shall be awarded at the February 2025 Board Meeting. Question Deadline 01/21/2025 Should any error, omission, inconsistencies or obscure wording appear or occur in the Drawings and Specifications, or should there by any discrepancies between Drawings and Specifications, the bidder shall, before submitting his bid, apply to the Architect in writing to DIGroupArchitecture, 15 Bethany Street, New Brunswick, NJ 08901 for an interpretation and determination of the intent of the Drawings and Specifications. Requests for such interpretations, to be given consideration, must be received at least ten (10) business days prior to the date fixed for the opening of bids. Interpretations or supplemental instructions will be in the form of written Addenda to the Specifications and will be mailed by certified mail with return receipt or faxed to all bidders who previously requested bid specifications at the addresses furnished by them for such purposes, no later than seven (7) business days prior to the date fixed for opening of bids
