Renovation of a municipal facility in Wilmington, North Carolina. Working plans call for the renovation of a 40,000-square-foot, two-story above grade municipal facility.
As of July 2026, a construction manager has been selected. Depending on state funding, construction is expected to commence in September 2027. Constructed in 1969 as UNCW's original chemistry building, DeLoach Hall (approximately 40,000 SF) is in need of significant modernization. The project will include replacing plumbing, mechanical, and electrical systems; installing new fire sprinkler and alarm systems; upgrading data and telecommunications infrastructure; and replacing windows and lighting. The commissioning scope includes MEP and building envelope systems, with a total project budget of $12.1M. The University seeks the professional services of a Commissioning Authority (CxA) to join the team and provide services for the project through design, construction, and post-acceptance. Commissioning services shall be provided as defined by the latest State Construction Office manual, guidelines, and checklists.
