Renovation of a fire / police facility in Brookline, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fire / police facility.
MBE: 7.4 percent of the Contract Price. WBE: 4 percent of the Contract Price. All bidding Requests for Information (RFIs) shall be submitted online by 03/18/2025 at 12:00PM EDT for filed sub-bids and by 03/18/2025 at 12:00PM EDT for general bids 140 Washington St. Brookline, MA 02445 The Project consists of but not limited to: The Town of Brookline is undergoing a conversion to be fossil free fuel (FFF) for all of its public buildings. As part of this, the existing Fire stations will undergo this conversion to be FFF. The first two stations to undergo this will be Fire Stations 1 & 4. This work will include but not be limited to remove existing Mechanical, heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment that currently runs on fossil fuels (FF), and replace the systems that use fossil fuels. Installing new FFF HVAC equipment will require that the fire stations upgrade and increase the electrical infrastructure of the buildings. In effect the project is a complete Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) upgrade to accommodate the FFF TOB initiative for these two stations. In addition to the major MEP upgrades the fire stations will undergo health and safety upgrades including but not limited to the removal of minor hazardous material, replacing fire poles with new fire-rated and sealed poles, and air/smoke sealing between the living quarters and zones of high carcinogen and fume contamination risk. In addition, living standard upgrades will be performed such a full kitchen renovation, individual shower rooms and sleeping quarters enhancements. GCs have been prequalified for this project. All bidding Requests for Information (RFIs) shall be submitted online by by 03/18/2025 at 12:00PM EDT for general bids. Bids are subject to M.G.L. c.149 44A-J & to minimum wage rates as required by M.G.L. c.149 26 to 27H inclusive. Electrical Work General bids and sub-bids shall be accompanied by a bid deposit that is not less than five (5%) of the greatest possible bid amount (including all alternates), and made payable to the TOWN OF BROOKLINE. Note: A bid deposit is not required for Projects advertised under $50,000.
