Renovation of an educational facility in Sherbrooke, Quebec. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Upgrades to the 25 kV electrical infrastructure has already been completed and adapted to allow the addition and operation of such a microgrid. In addition, a performance specification has been drawn up for the pre-purchase of the project's main component, the energy storage system. In line with its energy and greenhouse gas management strategy, and its desire to play an active role in research partnerships, the Université de Sherbrooke wishes to implement an energy storage system to set up a microgrid at the Parc Innovation - ACELP site at 3000 boul. de l'Université in Sherbrooke. TIMELINE: Request for proposals for electrical, automation, civil, structural and mechanical engineering services to complete design and monitor construction work is closed. Reference number: 20040889. The technological choices are also part of the mandate. The designers will have to take into account the long delivery times for certain components (transformers, 25 kV multi-channel switch, control building, micro network controller, etc.) and establish performance criteria for this equipment as soon as possible so that the Université de Sherbrooke can proceed with their pre-purchase, prior to the call for tenders for the construction work. Proposals have been deposited and are under review. Further update in late 2025/early 2026.
