Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Merrillville, Indiana. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.
** as of 2/11/2025 project has been awarded to Milestone Contractors LP with an amount of $2,244,976.99** Work for which proposals are to be received is for 2" depth surface milling, full-depth pavement patching, placement of new HMA surface, ADA Curb Ramp replacement, sidewalk replacement, and pavement markings on various roads within the town limits. Each bid shall be accompanied by an acceptable certified check made payable to the Town of Merrillville or an acceptable bid bond in the amount equal to 10% of the total bid price executed by an incorporated surety company in good standing and qualified to do business in the State of Indiana and whose name appears on the current Treasury Department Circular 570. The bond will be held by the Owner as evidence that the bidder will, if awarded the contract, enter into the same with the Owner upon notification from him to do so within (10) days of said notification. A Performance Bond and Payment Bond each in the amount of 100% of the Contract price will be required from the Contractor to whom the work is awarded. Standard Questionnaire Form 96 (latest revision), completely filled out and signed, including attachment of Contractor's Financial Statement as stipulated in Section III is required. If project is $150,000 or more, State of Indiana requirement as of 7/2018, Bidder is required to submit with bid a written plan for an employee drug testing program that complies with IC 4-13-18-5 and IC 4-13-18-6. The Owner may make such investigations as deemed necessary to determine the ability of the Bidder to perform the work and the Bidder shall furnish to the Owner all such information and data for this purpose as the Owner may request. The Owner reserves the right to reject any bid if the evidence submitted by, or investigation of, such Bidder fails to satisfy the Owner that such Bidder is properly qualified to carry out the obligations of the Agreement and to complete the work contemplated therein. Any questions shall be directed to Alex Olesker of Butler, Fairman, and Seufert, Inc by email only at aolesker@bfsengr.com. The deadline for questions is Thursday, January 23rd at 12:00 pm. No Bidder may withdraw his proposal within a period of 60 days following the date set for the receiving of bids. The Owner reserves the right to retain any and all bids for a period of not more than 60 days and said bid shall remain in full force and effect during said time. The Owner further reserves the right to waive informalities and to award the Contract to any Bidder all to the advantage of the Town of Merrillville, or to reject all bids. The Owner reserves the right to accept any bid or bids, or to make such combination of bids as may seem desirable.
