The Park District of Highland Park is seeking sealed bids for the following scope of work: dredging and relocation of lake bottom sand within the required area, specified herein, at Park Avenue Boating Facility (31 Park Avenue, Highland Park, Illinois). The scope of work includes all necessary workmanship to satisfactorily complete the work as required by the contract documents. Work will start May 5, 2025, and conclude by May 9, 2025. The Park Board of the Park District of Highland Park reserves the right to reject any or all bids in full or in part, if it shall deem it in the public interest to do so. In submitting a bid, Contractor acknowledges that Contractor must comply with all requirements of the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act and all other applicable Illinois laws. PARK DISTRICT OF HIGHLAND PARK /s/ Brian Romes Secretary of the Board of Park Commissioners. The Scope of Work includes the following: The excavation and relocation of lake bottom sand at the Park Avenue Boat Launch (~10,700 square foot area) to a minimum depth of 6 feet. The maximum amount of relocated sand cannot exceed 1,800 C.Y. The sand will be deposited offshore ~500 feet southeast of the boat launch per the construction drawings and project manual. For open water disposal, the dredge material shall be placed in the water in a manner to minimize resuspension of sediment material and contaminants by utilizing techniques including careful placement methods, disposal during favorable weather conditions that minimize turbulence and transport of suspended contaminants and other methods such as turbidity curtains should be used as necessary to minimize re-suspension of sediment material. Contractor shall remove all temporary structures installed as a part of this contract. Dredging Operations shall not cause: a. violation of applicable provisions of the Illinois Environmental Protection Act; b. water pollution defined and prohibited by the Illinois Environmental Protection Act; c. violation of applicable water quality standards of the Illinois Pollution Control Board, Title 35, Subtitle C: Water Pollution Rules and Regulations; d. interference with water use practices near public recreation areas or water supply intakes.
