This project consists of Sidewalk improvements at multiple locations within the City limits. This project consists of Sidewalk improvements at multiple locations within the City limits. Greenleaf Avenue: Consists of construction of new concrete sidewalks along Greenleaf Avenue and Lafayette Road from Hillside Drive to South Street. A portion of this scope includes removal of existing asphalt sidewalks. Sagamore Avenue: Consists of construction of new concrete sidewalks along Sagamore Avenue from 1171 Sagamore Ave. driveway to Odiorne Point Road. This Area work will have a portion of work within a City of Portsmouth sidewalk easement as well as a portion within the NHDOT right-of-way. NHDOT will require approval and permits prior to beginning work. Islington Street: Consists of removing an existing asphalt sidewalk and constructing to walkways to connect the existing property owner walkways to either the curb or to their driveways. Work may begin on or after: Tree Removal (Excl. Stump Removal) - March 3, 2025; All other work - April 15, 2025. All sections of the work shall be completed by June 27th, 2025. Liquidated damages shall be assessed at $100.00 per day. Bidders must determine the quantities of work required and the conditions under which the work will be performed. The City reserves the right, after bid opening and prior to award of the contract, to modify the amount of the work in the event that bids exceed budgeted amounts. The City of Portsmouth further reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive technical or legal deficiencies, to re-bid, and to accept any bid that it may deem to be in the best interest of the City. Each Bidder shall furnish a bid security in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid. The Bid Security may be in the form of a certified check drawn upon a bank within the State of New Hampshire or a bid bond executed by a surety company authorized to do business in the State of New Hampshire, made payable to the City of Portsmouth, N.H.
