Renovation of an educational facility in Bridgewater, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

Masonry, Ornamental Iron, Roofing, & Paint. The Project consists of but not limited to: This project consists of Reconstruction of exterior monumental stairs and repair/restoration of the cupola at Boyden Hall. Commencement is on Friday May 16, 2025 and Saturday May 17, 2025 ; Substantial Completion should be achieved on or before August 31, 2025 ; Final Completion should be achieved on or before September 30, 2025. Required for DCAMM contracts over $150,000, Highway Division contracts over $50,000. The work is estimated to cost $1,310,000.00. MBE/WBE Participation MBE: 4.2% (of total award, inclusive of any alternates exercised) WBE: 8.8% (of total award, inclusive of any alternates exercised) Workforce Utilization: Minority: 15.3% (of total award, inclusive of any alternates exercised) Women: 6.9% (of total award, inclusive of any alternates exercised) A. The project work consists of accessibility renovations to Boyden Hall at Bridgewater State University. The Work includes, but is not limited to: 1. Reconstruction of the exterior monumental stairs leading to the main entrance, which includes removing, salvaging and resetting the existing granite steps, infilling the void space below the staircase with flowable fill, constructing new exterior concrete steps, new interior masonry walls, new metal handrails and other general repairs to exterior walls and other components as indicated. 2. Restoration of the cupola, involving repairs to exterior wood trim and siding, replacement the existing wood door and windows, custom fiberglass ornamentation to replicate existing details, repairs to the steel guard system, exterior painting and all other work indicated. 1. Construction of renovation including, but not limited to: a. Selective demolition of exterior concrete steps, interior shoring, wood doors, windows and cupola details. Cutting and patching of rotten and damaged cupola trim. b. Concrete work involving new exterior concrete stairs, new flowable fill under existing stairs, new interior concrete footings and concrete repairs where indicated. c. Masonry work, including the removal/reinstallation of granite stair treads and the repair/reconstruction of certain exterior stone walls. d. Metals including structural steel beams, exterior handrails at the monumental stair and replacement steel details associated with the guard around the cupola. e. Carpentry work including conservation treatment of wood details and trim at the cupola, a new exterior wood door, new blocking and other rough carpentry and new custom fiberglass replicas of existing wood volutes and other details at the cupola. f. New exterior traffic coating over portions of the upper landing at the main stair. g. Coating portions of the existing EPDM roof and replacing other portions at the cupola level. h. New custom oval windows to match the existing. i. Exterior painting of the cupola. j. Electrical work associated with the removal and reinstallation of lightpoles, conduits and other electrical components attached to work scheduled for repair or replacement. E. Construction shall be classified as a Level 1 Alteration of an existing Type III B, Occupancy Class B/A-3 building. F. Reference To Drawings: The work to be done under this Contract is shown on the Drawings listed at the end of this Section. G. The Contractor shall provide a schedule for completion of the project to BSU within the construction period set forth in the Contract. H. The Massachusetts Standard Labor Wage rates contained in the Contract Documents, as updated on an annual basis, will be used throughout the construction of this project.
