As of November 4, 2025, an architect and construction manager have been selected for the project. Per the owner, this project is currently stalled. A firm timeline for construction has not been established. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: Reference Number 0000373140 Construction Management Services for Birmingham Senior/Recreation Center . The City of Birmingham, Michigan is accepting sealed proposals from Construction Management firms for support of the demolition of the existing Birmingham YMCA building and the construction of a new senior/recreation center building on the site. The project must be performed in accordance with the specifications contained in the Request for Proposal ("RFP"). The acceptance of any proposal made pursuant to this invitation shall not be binding upon the City of Birmingham until an agreement has been executed. The City of Birmingham, Michigan is accepting sealed proposals from Construction Management firms for support of the demolition of the existing Birmingham YMCA building and the construction of a new senior/recreation center building on the site.
