This is a service / maintenance or supply contract in Toronto, Ontario. Contact the soliciting agency for additional information.
The University of Toronto (the "University") is seeking responses to this RFP from qualified Architects (or teams of Architects) for professional services relating to the Warren Stevens Renewal Feasibility Study at the St. George campus (the "Project"). Upon receipt and review of the written submissions, up to five firms may be invited to make a presentation to an evaluation committee. The Feasibility Report will develop and detail an approach to renewal for the facility that best supports the Faculty of Kinesiology and Physical Education's mission. The University, at its sole descretion may elect to proceed with an "Optional Part 2" which may include detailed design and implementation of one or more option projects identified in "Part 1 Feasibility Study". Warren Stevens is a large multipurpose athletic facility that is critical for the Faculty of Kinesiology & Physical Education's (KPE's) mission for excellence in academic and athletic research, teaching, practice, and for inspiring the University community to achieve exceptional levels of engagement in physical activity and sport. The building houses large span athletic spaces to accommodate an Olympic size pool (Varsity Pool) and a large indoor running track, among other spaces. The goal of the project is to undertake a holistic feasibility study of the Warren Stevens building that will inform how KPE can optimize use of space to meet their academic and athletic mandate and deliver their myriad of curricular and cocurricular programs. Based upon the considered outcomes of the Feasibility Study, the University may enact an option to continue with the successful Proponent to complete Part 2 - the balance of professional services (schematic design through contract administration) for the priority project/s identified in the Feasibility Study. Refurbishment of the pool, associated areas and systems are priority projects and if the University elects to move ahead with Part 2, these projects will be the first projects to be implemented. Official bid documents must be obtained from www.merx.com and bid submissions must be done through the Merx platform.
