Site work for a civil project in Merced, California. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

Scope of work includes installing and sealing a conductor casing, drilling a 700-foot deep Test hole, conducting electric logging, zone isolation and water quality sampling at various depths, reaming the Test hole, conducting a caliper log, and constructing, developing, and testing a 650-foot deep public supply well, using the reverse rotary drilling method and abandonment of the existing well, removal of hydropneumatic tank, piping, disconnection of electrical service, removal of pump, motor and well abandonment to Merced county Environmental Health standards. The well owner is the Le Grand Community Service District. The Engineer is QK Inc. of Merced. Question Deadline 01/31/2025 All questions regarding this project during the bidding phase shall be submitted in writing, to Garth Pecchenino, at garth.pecchenino@qkinc.com. Any questions received after said date will be null and void. Bids shall be submitted only on the bid proposal forms supplied by the Engineer. Bids shall be accompanied by a proposal guaranty of a certified check or bidder's bond of not less than ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid, made payable to the order of the District, to be retained as liquidated damages by the District if the successful bidder fails to enter into a Contract. Upon entering into a contract, the successful bidder will be required to furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond each for 100 percent of the contract amount. The Contractor shall comply with the requirements of the California Labor Code and specific attention is called to Section 1777.5 regarding Apprenticeship Standards.The Contract(s) shall be signed within ten (10) days, not including Sundays and legal holidays, after receipt of the Notice of Award. The work shall be completed within 90 calendar days after the date of the Notice to Proceed. The Contractor shall pay the Owner $500.00 per day for each calendar day delay in finishing the work beyond the required completion date. Every request for interpretation or correction of any ambiguity, inconsistency, or error, should be in writing, addressed to QK, at 2816 Park Avenue, Merced, California 95348-3375, and to be given consideration, must be received at least seven (7) days prior to the date fixed for the opening of bids. Any and all such interpretations, and any supplemental instructions, will be in the form of written addenda to the specifications, which, if issued, will be posted at ONLINE, not later than five (5) days prior to the date fixed for the opening of bids. Failure of any bidder to receive any such addendum or interpretation shall not relieve such bidder from any obligation under his bid as submitted. Only a written interpretation or correction by addendum shall be binding. No bidder shall rely upon any interpretation or correction given by any other method. All addenda shall become a part of the contract documents. For any moneys earned by the Contractor and withheld by the District to ensure the performance of the contract, the Contractor may, at his request and expense, substitute securities equivalent to the amount withheld in the form and manner and subject to the conditions provided in Sections 22300 and 10263 of the Public Contracts Code of the State of California. A bidder does not have to be licensed to submit a bid. However, a contract for the work will not be executed until the Contractor is licensed as a Class "A" Contractor in accordance with Sections 7000 through 7145, inclusive and as amended to date, of the Business and Professions Code of the State of California. It shall be the responsibility of the Bidder to contact the Engineer not more than five (5) days before bid opening for any possible addenda to the Plans or Specifications. No bidder may withdraw his bid within 60 days after the actual date of the opening thereof. No interpretation or correction of the plans, specifications, or any other pre-bid document will be made orally. All questions regarding this project during the bidding phase shall be submitted in writing no later than January 31st, 2025, to Garth Pecchenino, at garth.pecchenino@qkinc.com. Any questions received after said date will be null and void. The District reserves the right to reject any or all bids, or to waive any informalities. If awarded, a contract will be awarded within 30 days of the bid opening.
