Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a civil project in Utica, New York. Conceptual plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.
This Project Will Replace Two Bridges Carrying Route 921c (North Genesee Street) Over Mohawk River, Harbor Lock Road and Erie Canal, City of Utica, Oneida County. This Project Will Also Rehabilitate N. Genesee Street From Wurz Avenue to I-790. NYSDOT Region: 02 MOHAWK VALLEY The current status of the project is In Development. The Bid Opening is expected to be in Summer 2026. Construction is expected to begin in Summer 2026. Construction is expected to be completed in Winter 2027/2028. As of October 04, 2025, the project is in Conceptual status. Anticipated letting Year is 2026. NYDOT : North Genesee St. Gateway Bridge and Multi-Modal Connector Project *Project information has been obtained through a public state transportation improvement plan (STIP). A STIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the STIP often evolves based on funding availability.
