Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Manheim, New York. Conceptual plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.
This project will replace the Route 5 over East Canada Creek Bridge in the Town of Manheim, Herkimer and Montgomery Counties. NYSDOT Region: 02 MOHAWK VALLEY The current status of the project is In Development. The Bid Opening is expected to be in Fall 2026. Construction is expected to begin in Winter 2026/2027. Construction is expected to be completed in Fall 2027. As of October 04, 2025, the project is in Conceptual status. Anticipated letting Year is 2026. NYDOT : Rt. 5 Over East Canada Creek (BIN 1002460) Bridge Replacement, Herkimer and Montgomery Counties *Project information has been obtained through a public state transportation improvement plan (STIP). A STIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the STIP often evolves based on funding availability.
