Renovation of a transportation facility in Wilmington, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a transportation facility.

Question Deadline 03/10/2025 All questions clarifications or explanations from the site visit must be submitted in writing to the contracting officer. A. Project Location: The project is located on Wilmington International Airport (ILM) at the Air Traffic Control Tower at 2220 Control Tower Dr, Wilmington, NC. B. Project Scope: This project consists of replacing the chain link cantilever sliding gate at the entrance to the facility along with the motor operator, safety sensors, detection loops, photelectric sensors and the manual pedestrian gate adjacent to the vehicular gate. C. Work Must include all labor, materials, and equipment to complete the following: 1. Measure existing conditions to ensure new gate will be sized to fit the existing opening. 2. Remove existing chain link cantilever vehicular gate. 3. Remove the chain link pedestrian gate adjacent to the vehicular gate. 4. Remove the detection loops on either side of the gate. 5. Remove photoelectric sensors on existing gate posts and save for reuse. 6. Remove existing motorized gate controller. 7. Install new 18-foot-wide chain link vertical pivot gate, motor controller, pedestrian gate with new spring closer hinges, and additional chain link fence. As shown on sheet TSC24-161-005. 8. Relocate pedestrian gate card reader as shown on sheet TSC-24-161-005. 9. Replace and relocate breaker box adjacent to operator pad. 10. Install barbed wire on top of gates and fence per details on sheet TSC-24-161-005 and TSC-24-161-007. 11. Install photo electric sensors. 12. Install reversing sensor on bottom edge of gate. 13. Install new detection loops on either side of cantilever gate. Reversing loop on non-secure side and reversing loop and free exit loop on secure side of gate. 14. Install new motor controller on new concrete pad. 15. Install bollards as shown on sheet TSC-24-161-005 16. Provide grounding for the gate system per sheet TSC-24-161-007. 17. Test and adjust gate as needed to operate properly. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has a requirement for a contractor to replace the gate and operator at the Wilmington, NC, Air Traffic Control Tower (ATCT). Attached is the Request for Proposal, Drawings, Specifications and applicable Wage Determination. All vendors must review Section L of Request for Proposal to ensure a complete proposal is submitted. This is an Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) funded project.
