Renovation of a municipal facility in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
Project IT Room Buildout and Conference Room Subdivision. Location of work is the Intermodal Transportation Center (ITC)150 Main St., Fitchburg MA Contractor Qualification Required for DCAMM contracts over $150,000, Highway Division contracts over $50,000. Project includes General Carpentry, HVAC installation, Lighting and Electrical work, some plumbing work & fire suppression install. Site Location(s): 100-160 Main Street, Fitchburg, MA 01420 Deadline for Questions: Monday, February 10, 2025 @ 10AM Questions and RFR response should be sent via email to procurement@mrta.us IT ROOM BUILDOUT: Goal: Construct a new IT room that integrates existing servers into the space. 1. Wall Construction: o Build the North wall (9'10") and East wall (6'7") using 5/8" fire-rated sheetrock and minimum R15 insulation. West and South walls are preexisting. o Walls to be framed above the existing office ceiling, mounted to existing framing above, and carpet cut back and mounted to the existing concrete floor. o Coordinate with MART for paint colors and finish. 2. Door Installation: o Install a 36"x84" commercial fire-rated door on the left side of the South wall. 3. Plumbing Modifications: o Relocate and replumb the water fountain from the South wall to the new North wall per the layout provided. 4. Fire Protection Adjustments: o Relocate or terminate the existing sprinkler head in this space per code. Install a properly sized FM-200 fire suppression unit for the server room, ensuring it complies with all applicable codes and regulations. o Tie the FM-200 unit back to the existing fire suppression panel located in the parking garage storage area. 5. Ceiling Modifications: o Modify and remount the existing drop ceiling frame to the newly constructed walls on both inner and outer sides. 6. Lighting and Electrical Work: o Re-center existing lights in the new IT room space and wire them independently for this room. o Place the two existing outlets on the South wall on a separate breaker. The panel is located roughly 80 ft from the existing outlets. 7. Flooring Installation: o Remove the existing carpet and install VCT tile flooring with coordinating cove base provided by MART. 8. HVAC Installation: o Install a properly sized mini-split system for adequate ventilation and temperature control.
