Grinton I. Will Library (Will Library) is a 72,000 square foot building that opened in November 1962. Its cooling system failed permanently in 2022 and temporary cooling has been used since. Yonkers Public Library (YPL) expects to complete installation of a permanent air-cooled chiller and HVAC system some time during the summer of 2025, but not before air conditioning is required. As a result, YPL is requesting proposals to rent and install temporary HVAC/cooling services on a monthly basis at the Will Library beginning on or about April 15, 2025 through as long as October 15, 2025 while installation of the new permanent air-cooled chiller and HVAC system proceeds. SCOPE OF WORK Specifically, YPL is requesting proposals that include the following items and services: Rental of 200 ton chiller unit Rental of adequate transformer to power chiller unit (at least 500 kVA) All necessary cables, hoses, fittings and connections to tap into the building's chilled water while installation of air-cooled chiller is in progress All necessary controllers and interfaces required for proper operation of chiller and associated equipment, including GPS monitoring with alerts, 7 day scheduling and automatic turn-on/shut-down. Rental and assembly of fencing and sound-dampening barriers or other mitigation solutions to reduce the impact of chiller and transformer operation on neighboring community Transportation, delivery, assembly, installation and removal of all items listed above All tools, materials, supplies, equipment and documentation necessary for proper operation and maintenance of unit and equipment. Available support for proper operation and maintenance of unit and equipment Disassembly and removal of chiller, transformer, cables, hoses, fittings, connections, controllers and fencing upon completion of the installation of the air-cooled chiller. All items and services must be made available on at least a monthly basis beginning on or about April 15, 2025 through as long as October 15, 2025. Two weeks' notice will be given if disconnection and removal is required prior to October 15, 2025 due to completion of permanent air-cooled chiller. Grinton I. Will Library is a public building that also serves as a municipal cooling center during heat waves and states of emergency and as a result all equipment provided as required in the scope of work must be adequate to operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week throughout the period of rental. Qualified proposals will include daily, weekly and monthly rental rates of all parts, equipment, supplies, labor, services and any other related items. Rental agreement and contract will be terminated two weeks after Yonkers Public Library issues notification of completion of permanent air-cooled chiller and HVAC system.
