Scope of Work The Village of Lake in the Hill s ( " Villag e " ) intends to hire a qualified contractor ( " Contracto r " ) to provide all labor, equipment, and materials necessary to reconstruct the full- sized basketball court at Jaycee Park , 61 Oakleaf Road. Scott Parchutz, Public Properties Superintendent, will be the Village's project manager. Court Dimensions The existing Jaycee Park basketball court is approximately 50' x 82'. The Contractor shall reconstruct the existing asphalt court, which will equal approximately 4,100 square feet. While reconstructing the existing asphalt court, the contractor shall leave the existing basketball goals, which shall be reused and remain in their current locations. Further, the playable court area shall remain the same and be marked in the same manner as the existing layout. All sizes, square footage, and dimensions are approximate, whereby it is incumbent on the Contractor to field-verify them to ensure accuracy before bid submittal.Asphalt Reconstruction The Contractor shall set up and install temporary construction fencing around the entire construction area. The C ontractor shall undercut the court in its entirety and remove and dispose of the existing asphalt and subbase to ensure that the court has a minimum base thickness of fourteen inches. All spoils shall be hauled away and disposed of off-site. The Contractor shall furnish and install GEOGRID TRIAX ground stabilization material. Furnish and install ten inches of CA-1 Stone base and compact. Furnish and install four inches of CA-6 Stone base and compact. The Contractor shall t reat the whole area with a sterilant to prevent future flora growth and shall compact the en tire base with not less than a five-ton vibratory roller , with two passes minimum in each direction. The base shall not deviate more than 1/2 inches when measured with a 10-foot straight edge. The Contractor shall supply and install the HMA surface course (Mix " C " N 50). The surface course shall be placed in two layers , each 1.5 inches thick when compacted, for a total compacted thi ckness of 3.0 inches. The a sphalt shall be installed , machine laid, and compacted with vibratory asphalt rollers. The Contractor shall roll smooth the asphalt surface course , and the surface shall not vary more than 3/4 inch from the established grade. The Contractor shall ensure all drainage flow is directed toward the edge of the asphalt , and the slope of the court shall be .8 - 1.2% from end to end. When performing the asphalt overlay, the Contractor shall transition all edges to prevent pedestrian trip ha zards and hand-tamp all exposed edges. Questions must be submitted by February 11, 2025
