Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Antioch, California. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK Work to be Performed: The work shall consist of improving multimodal connectivity and pedestrian safety along L Street by constructing concrete curb, gutter, sidewalk, driveways and curb ramps, minor median island modifications, pavement micro-surfacing, and installing pedestrian safety flashing beacons at various locations. The project will also include re-striping to provide a Class II bike lane on L Street from 10th Street to the Antioch Marina circle and a Class III bike route from Lemontree Way to Sycamore Drive. Location: L Street from 10th Street to the Antioch Marina and Lemontree Way to Sycamore Drive in the City of Antioch. The estimated cost of construction is $1,700,000. Questions All questions prior to award of the Contract shall be directed to the attention of Public Works Director via email at cip@antiochca.gov. The deadline for submissions of questions and clarifications concerning the Contract Documents is March 4, 2025. Only signed Addenda issued by the City of Antioch are binding. Bid Guaranty/Security - Each bid must be accompanied by a Bid Guaranty in the form of a Certificate of Deposit, Certified or Cashier's Check, or Bidder's Bond, in an amount equal to at least ten percent (10%) of the Bidder's Total Bid Price. The Bid Guaranty will be retained by the City and applied to any and all damages sustained by the City in the event that the successful Bidder fails or refuses to enter into the Contract awarded to it and to furnish all required bonds and Certificates of Insurance. The successful bidder shall be required to furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, both in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Total Bid Price. Award of the contract, if it is to be awarded, will be to the lowest responsible bidder whose proposal complies with all the requirements described. Such award, if made, will be made at a meeting of the Antioch City Council within 90 days after the opening of the proposal. No bidder may withdraw his bid after the time announcement for the opening, on or before the award and execution of the contract, unless the award is delayed for a period exceeding one hundred ten days. No bid will be accepted from a contractor who has not been licensed in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 9, Division III of Business and Professions Code. The City of Antioch reserves the right to reject any and all bids or portions thereof; to accept a bid or portion thereof; to postpone making the award for a reasonable length of time; or to waive irregularities not affecting substantial rights.
