The Morgan County Commissioners will contract for professional engineering services in February 2025 for the MRG-CR 70 (Upper Douda Rd.) Bridge Replacement project and initiated by the Morgan County Engineer's Office. The MRG-CR 70 (Upper Douda Rd.) Bridge - Ohio Structure No. 5833256 is located in Malta Township, Ohio on Upper Douda Road approximately 750' southwest of the intersection of MRG-CR 2 (Riverview Rd.) and MRG-CR 70 (Upper Douda Rd.). The existing bridge has a clear span of 24' and is constructed with steel beams and wood post abutments. Part of the design shall include an analysis of structure relocation options to enhance road and stream alignments. The Morgan County Engineer utilizes a quality-based method of consultant evaluation. Any person or firm engaged in the practice of engineering and registered as a professional engineer or surveyor in Ohio, interested in furnishing professional services, must submit a Statement of Qualifications electronically (as a PDF document) to the Morgan County email address listed below. The Statement of Qualifications will be used to qualify firms for potential professional services. Firms will be chosen according to their qualifications. Interested firms should include a cover letter indicating which of the following categories for which they wish to be evaluated: non-complex Roadway design, non-complex Bridge design, Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, and/or Land Surveying. Note additional weight will be given to firms which can complete the required project work (directly or under subcontract) in all the categories listed above. If you are currently pre-qualified with the Ohio Department of Transportation you will be considered pre-qualified with Morgan County. The Statement of Qualifications should include the following: 1) For categories not included by ODOT or for those not pre-qualified with ODOT, proof of competence and experience to perform professional services for each category that qualification is requested, otherwise submit your ODOT pre-qualifications; 2) Sample listing of similar projects with project explanation, current listing of governmental projects and type of services being rendered, and contact person for verification; 3) Evidence of professional liability insurance and amount; 4) History of individuals or of the firm including information regarding main area of expertise and main or branch office locations which will be responsible for the requested work; 5) Description of pertinent facilities and equipment; 6) Education, training, and experience of owners, principals, and project managers that would provide the potential services for the requested project categories; 7) Current status of "Certificate of Authorization" from the State of Ohio to practice engineering or surveying; and 8) MBE/DBE Eligibility/Certification, if any.
