The Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville (the Town) is putting forward a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the development of 3D architectural multiplex house design renderings and pre-approved or "ready-to-use" working plans for detached Additional Residential Units (ARUs). The pre-approved working plans will be made available as part of a three (3) - year program term with possibility of a two (2) year extension depending on the program success. The objectives of this project are to: 1) Produce conceptual 3D architectural renderings of potential multiplex housing options (3-plex and 4-plex dwellings, or others as recommended) that are suitable for the Town; and 2) Produce pre-approved or "ready-to-use" working drawings for detached Additional Residential Units (ARUs), to streamline the process for homeowners and builders to construct a detached ARU on a single property. The purpose/goal of this project is to increase the supply of housing options in the Town through supporting the missing middle, increased density through infill and intensification within existing built-up areas, while providing a range of housing options and affordability for different needs to create a complete community.
