SCOPE OF WORK 1.1 Intent of Contract It is the intent of the City of North Port (hereafter "City") to secure services of an experienced and qualified Contractor to provide installation of Bimini or equivalent approved Bermuda Sprigs and removal of existing turf at Narramore Soccer Complex, 1554 South Narramore St. North Port, FL 34287, Soccer Field No. 2. Services can begin as early as June 2, 2025 and all services must be complete no later than June 20, 2025, weather permitting. The scope of work is a general guide to the work the City expects to be performed by the Contractor and may not be a complete listing of all services that may be required or desired. Services provided must conform to all applicable State, Federal, and Local laws and administrative rules and regulations. SCOPE REQUIREMENTS LOCATION: Narramore Soccer Complex, 1554 South Narramore St. North Port, Fl 34287- Soccer Field No. 2 (Approximately 2 acres) A. PRIMARY TURF SPECIFICATIONS a) Turf Type: Sprigs. b) Total Quantity: 3,000 bushels=approximately 25,000 sq. ft. of rolled sod c) Bimini or similar approved Bermuda Sprigs by the bushel. d) Bushel is equal to 1 square yard of turf. e) Turf shall be 1.5" thickness of cut; composed of 0.75" grass, .075" soil. f) Turf shall be field maintained at a cut height of 1" or lower. g) Sprigs to be harvested off-site the morning of delivery and be of uniform size ready to be planted at the job site. PREPARATION AND INSTALLATION a) City shall spray out existing turf with non-selective herbicide two weeks prior to field stripping. b) Contractor shall remove existing turf at a depth of 1 inch. c) City shall remove turf from site using appropriate disposal methods. 24 RFB NO. 2025-17 NARRAMORE FIELD REHABILITATION d) Contractor shall provide 200 cubic yards of new bunker sand mixed with 200 cubic yards of Command soil additive. e) Contractor shall till into existing soil, roll, and laser grade with a 1 percent crown. f) The city will perform pre-planting fertilization of the field to ensure the best conditions for the plants to establish. g) The city will provide watering of newly installed turf, as required. h) Contractor shall install sprigs the same day as harvesting. i) Contractor's delivery of the turf shall include unloading from the delivery truck by the Contractor's representative. The city will not be supplying any equipment for the use by the contractor representative. The Contractor's representative is required to use whatever necessary means to deliver, unload, and install the turf as specified herein. j) The contractor shall use proper equipment to prevent damage to turf or grade. k) The contractor shall install turf to conform to irrigation zone layout, lightly watering immediately after installation of each zone. An irrigation layout drawing will be giving to the awarded Contractor. l) At completion of each area of turf work, Contractor shall remove all debris, equipment, and surplus materials. All materials removed shall be disposed of off-site by the Contractor. m) The Contractor shall install sprigs using cut-in method of two perpendicular directions. n) During installation of turf, Contractor shall consult with City for inspection and approval of work quality. In the event of unsatisfactory work, the Contractor shall be responsible for replacing those areas that are not acceptable to the City. Replacement shall be at no extra cost to City. o) The contractor shall finish all work no later than June 20, 2025. CITY ACCEPTANCE a) The City shall have the right to reject turf that is of unacceptable quality in the sole opinion of the City. B. ALTERNATE NO. 1 TURF SPECIFICATIONS a) Turf Type: rolled sod b) Total Quantity: 80,000 square feet approximate c) Bimini or similar approved Bermuda sod PREPARATION AND INSTALLATION d) City shall spray out existing turf with non-selective herbicide two weeks prior to field stripping. e) Contractor shall remove existing turf at a depth of 1 inch. 25 RFB NO. 2025-17 NARRAMORE FIELD REHABILITATION f) City shall remove from site using appropriate disposal methods. g) Contractor shall amend soil as necessary and install large rolls of Bimini Bermuda sod for approximately 80,000 square feet of new sod. h) Contractor shall remove mesh backing and ensure levelness of field. i) Contractor shall roll newly laid grass. j) Contractor's delivery of the turf shall include unloading from the delivery truck by the Contractor's representative. The city will not be supplying any equipment for the use by the contractor representative. The Contractor's representative is required to use whatever necessary means to deliver, unload, and install the turf as specified herein. k) The contractor shall use proper equipment to prevent damage to turf or grade. l) The contractor shall install turf to conform to irrigation zone layout, lightly watering immediately after instillation of each zone. An irrigation layout drawing will be giving to the awarded Contractor. m) At completion of each area of turf work, Contractor shall remove all debris, equipment, and surplus materials.
