Demolition, Construction Bids, Current Bids Apparatus, Supplies, Materials and Equipment, Requests for Proposals/Qualifications Services and Technology. The City of Fayetteville is soliciting bids for the Microsurfacing Various Streets 2025 project. The Project includes the following Work: Bids are requested for the following Contract: This project consists of joint sealing, herbicide control, and microsurfacing 4.59 miles of streets. The Project has an expected duration of 120 days. Bidding Documents may be downloaded from the designated website. Prospective Bidders are urged to register with the designated website as a plan holder, even if Bidding Documents are obtained from a plan room or source other than the designated website in either electronic or paper format. The designated website will be updated periodically with addenda, lists of registered plan holders, reports, and other information relevant to submitting a Bid for the Project. All official notifications, addenda, and other Bidding Documents will be offered only through the designated website. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for Bidding Documents, including addenda, if any, obtained from sources other than the designated website. For all further requirements regarding bid submittal, qualifications, procedures, and contract award, refer to the Instructions to Bidders that are included in the Bidding Documents. Owner on its own initiative may issue Addenda to clarify, correct, supplement, or change the Bidding Documents. Addenda will be issued no later than twenty-four (24) hours prior to the Bid Opening. Contact the following individual to coordinate the details for the subsurface exploration: Jeff Riddle, 910-322-6358. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by Engineer in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda delivered to all registered plan holders. Questions received less than forty-eight (48) hours prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered. A Bid must be accompanied by Bid Security made payable to City of Fayetteville in the amount of five (5) percent of the Bidder's maximum Bid price (determined by adding the base bid and all alternates). Bidders must submit an acceptable bid bond, cashier's check, or certified check as Bid Security with their Bid pursuant to North Carolina General Statute 143-129. The acceptable bid bond must be issued by a surety legally authorized to do business in North Carolina and meet the requirements of the General Conditions. Cashier's or certified checks must be drawn on a bank or trust insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and made payable to the City of Fayetteville. Checks shall be effective on the day Bids are opened and valid for a period of at least ninety (90) days from the date the check is issued. The number of days within which, or the dates by which, the Work is to be (a) substantially completed and (b) ready for final payment, and (c) Milestones (if any) are to be achieved, are set forth in the Agreement. Performance and Payment Bonds: When Contractor delivers the signed counterparts of the Agreement to Owner, Contractor shall also deliver to Owner the performance bond and payment bond (if the Contract requires Contractor to furnish such bonds). Contractor shall furnish a performance bond and a payment bond, each in an amount at least equal to the Contract Price, as security for the faithful performance and payment of Contractor's obligations under the Contract. These bonds must remain in effect until one year after the date when final payment becomes due or until completion of the correction period specified in Paragraph 15.08, whichever is later, except as provided otherwise by Laws or Regulations, the terms of a prescribed bond form, the Supplementary Conditions, or other provisions of the Contract. B. Contractor shall also furnish such other bonds (if any) as are required by the Supplementary Conditions or other provisions of the Contract. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, material, supplies, signage, traffic control, and other incidentals necessary to provide Micro Surfacing. This work shall include furnishing and placing a latex modified emulsion to existing roadway surfaces as specified herein and as directed by the Engineer. The completed Micro Surfacing shall leave a homogeneous mat, adhere firmly to the prepared surface, and have a skid-resistant surface texture throughout its service life.
