Transfer Station Facility Expansion and Upgrades: Includes the multi-phased construction of a new transfer station and supporting facilities, including site work and utilities. SITE WORK: The site work will include excavation, backfill, grading and construction of stormwater controls required to expand the existing transfer station, including site access roads. SITE UTILITIES: Site utility work will include water and sewer service for the new breakroom and washdown water for the transfer station, and washdown water collection, including piping, grit chamber and pump station. T RANSFER STATION: The transfer station (expansion and reconstruction) will include the pre-engineered metal building, structural concrete foundations, concrete wearing slab and push walls, steel plating and protection and all mechanical, electrical and plumbing required for the operation of the facility. UPPORT FACILITIES: In addition to the transfer station, the project will include the relocation of the existing transfer trailer storage area and a new covered storage area with staff breakroom. The work for supporting facilities will include prefabricated structures and all structural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing required for the operation of the facility. Each Bid must be accompanied by a certified check or a Bid Bond by an acceptable surety company of not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the Base Bid, made payable to the Owner, as a Bid guarantee. A Performance and Payment Bond will be required for the successful Bidder in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract price, conditioned upon the faithful performance of the Contract, payment of all persons supplying labor or furnishing materials, and payment of all liabilities incurred in connection with the Work under this Contract. Each Bidder must be appropriately licensed as a General Contractor in compliance the Tennessee Department of Commerce & Insurance Board for Licensing Contractors. No Bidder may withdraw their Bid within 30 days after the date of Bid opening. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all Bids and any part of a Bid and to waive formalities and technicalities in the bidding procedure.
