The Caland Area (consisting of the Former Transformer Station and Former Euclid Shop) is contaminated with (i) polychlorinated biphenyls PCBs, and (ii) petroleum hydrocarbon compounds PHCs” polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons PAHs volatile organic compounds VOCs and together with PHCs and PAHs, the Target Compounds) and various metals. The Former Transformer Station is contaminated with PCBs the Former Euclid Shop is contaminated with the Target Compounds and PCBs. The bottom of the contamination at the Former Transformer Station and the access road to the Former Cal and Euclid Shop will be inundated by water by early 2027, and therefore time is of the essence to remediate this contamination. The purpose of this project is to excavate the contaminated soil. As described in greater detail in the RFB, the scope of work generally includes: 1. Topographic surveys. 2. Excavation, hauling, and disposal of contaminated soil and concrete from the Caland Area to the appropriate location based on conditions within the RFB. 3. Construction of a Soil Staging Area. 4. Pumping and treating contaminated groundwater. 5. Maintenance or upgrade of the hauling route. Documents can be obtained from https://ontariotenders.app.jaggaer.com
