The work under this Invitation for Bids generally consists of, but is not limited to escalator replacement. Project located at 800 Sloan Ave., Hamilton, NJ 08619. All Bidders must be prequalified by NJ TRANSIT for the character and amount of their bid submitted. Bidders are required to be prequalified with a classification of " BR" Building Rail Operating Railroad Environment as a "GC" (General Contractors), for an amount of work that is equal to or greater than their bid amount with a minimum rating of "L" ($4,000,001 to $6,000,000). Disadvantaged Business Enterprises, in accordance with the Department of Transportation (DOT) Regulations 49 C.F.R., Part 26, shall have the maximum opportunity to participate in the performance of this contract. A five percent (5%) Race-Conscious DBE goal has been assigned to this project. In accordance with N.J.S.A. 27:25-11 and N.J.A.C. 16:72-2.2 Bidders are notified that a bid bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid price is required with their Bids. Bidders who are not currently prequalified as required above or whose prequalification has expired MUST submit completed prequalification forms to Raven Costa at racosta@NJTransit.com no later than the submittal date identified in the Special Provisions. Late prequalification submissions will not be considered for this solicitation. This project is subject to the requirements of the Public Works Contractor Registration Act (N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.48 et seq.). Contractors and subcontractors must also comply with the State of New Jersey, Division of Revenue, Business Registration Certificate requirements N.J.S.A. 52:32-44, and Political Disclosure N.J.S.A. 19:44A-20.27. Bidders are required to comply with N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27, regarding Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action rules and regulations. Pre bid notes: Upon confirmation of your firm's RSVP, NJ TRANSIT will forward an invitation for the video conference. Attendance at the Pre-Bid Conference is highly recommended but not mandatory. Recipients of this IFB that do not attend may be at a disadvantage when submitting a Bid.
