The budget for this effort is $120,000 for a one (1)-year term. Please note that by submitting a Bid, Bidder certifies that it is not subject to any Ukraine/Russia-related economic sanctions imposed by the State of California or the United States Government including, but not limited to, Presidential Executive Order Nos. 13660, 13661, 13662, 13685, and 14065. Any individual or entity that is the subject of any Ukraine/Russiarelated economic sanction is not eligible to submit a Bid. In submitting a Bid, all Bidders agree to comply with all economic sanctions imposed by the State or U.S. Government. The City of Wichita is the largest city in Kansas with a population of approximately 397,000 and is the seat of Sedgwick County. As of May 2024, the City's total land area was approximately 167 square miles. Major highways, including the Kansas Turnpike (I-35), Interstate 135 and U.S. 54 (Kellogg Avenue) link the City with a large trade area that encompasses a population of more than 1.1 million people within a 100 mile radius. The City of Wichita employs approximately 3,100 employees providing a full range of municipal services, including police and fire protection, parks and recreation programs, libraries, public housing, municipal transportation, airports, water and sewer utilities, general administration, and other services. The legislative body of the City consists of a six member City Council, elected by district, and a full time Mayor elected from the City-atlarge. The Council members and the Mayor serve four-year terms overlapping. The Council and Mayor establish general policies, which are executed by the City Manager. The City of Wichita is soliciting request for bids from vendors and/or firms for Grit Removal - WTP for the Public Works & Utilities Department. The City reserves the right to award all, some, or none of the goods/services set forth in this Request for Bid (RFB) to any one proposer based on the City's review and assessment of the bids meeting the criteria/specifications set forth herein. II. SCOPE OF SERVICES Purpose of the project is to obtain contract services for grit removal from the Water Treatment Plant Facilities at 1815 W. Pine and 5211 W. 21st St N. The contractor would provide dumpster service with routine pick up at a minimum of two (2) times per week, summer demand pickup of three (3) times a week and a possible 4th during heavy demand season or as needed. Additional dumpsters are to be available on site to handle unforeseen circumstances and to bridge weekends and Holidays. It is the City's intent to never have to dump grit onto the ground but to keep the grit in the containment of the dumpsters at all times. To facilitate the ease of dumping and serviceability of the dumpsters, we request dumpster liners to be included in this agreement, plus installation. The grit will need to be taken to Plum Thicket Landfill in Harper, KS. The City will not be held responsible if deliveries are taken to Brooks Landfill for any reason without approval from regulating authorities prior to the incident. Scope of Services 1. Provide committed dumpsters detailed in the location specifications. 2. Provide liners and assist with installation of the dumpster liners when dumpsters are placed for grit collection. 3. Pickup days per week to be scheduled per season. 4. Bid items to include: a.Pickup and hauling price per ton b.Unsuccessful pickup trip 1. 1815 W.
