The Grapeland Independent School District is soliciting bids for the construction of approximately 22,000 sq. ft. of concrete parking area. The location and the drawing for this parking area will be provided by Grapeland I.S.D. for contractor review. All bidders should familiarize themselves with the project before submitting a bid. Please contact Dr. David P. Maass at 936-687-4619 if interested in Bidding and to pick-up drawings. Concrete specifications for the project to be as follows: 1. Concrete slab thickness to be 5 inches thick. 2. Rebar support to be #3 bars @18" o.c. Typical with appropriate chairs to support the bars. These chairs are to be placed at a minimum 5' x 5' square pattern. 3. Concrete mixture is to be 3500 psi strength. 4. Concrete is to be poured monolithic. 5. Contractor to be responsible for contracting the concrete pumping company. 6. Contractor to be responsible for saw cutting concrete on a 20' x 20' pattern. The cut is to be 1.25 inches deep. 7. Parking area to be bounded by 6" x 6" curbing. Note exceptions on plan for no curb required. 8. Contractor to be responsible for cutting the existing parking curb as shown on the plan. 9. Contractor to be responsible for elevations at existing curb to insure water flow from existing parking areas not allowed into the new parking lot. 10.Water breaks at the new parking area drain location to be by contractor. 11.Contractors bid to exclude parking lot striping. 12.Contractor to be able to mobilize within 2 weeks from award of contract. The Grapeland I.S.D. reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
