Questions received less than ten days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered. The project generally consists of site grading and paving for parking lot improvements at the Brandon Valley School District Bus Transportation Building on the north side of Brandon, SD. Bids shall be submitted on the prescribed form. Bids will be rejected if they show any conditions or uncalled for alternative bids. All bids shall be on the basis of cash payment according to the terms of the bidding documents. A resident bidder is allowed a preference as against the bid of any bidder from any other state enforcing or having a preference for resident bidders, equal to such preference. The submittal of a Bid will constitute an incontrovertible representation by Bidder that the Bidder has examined carefully the bidding documents, visited the site, is familiar with the local conditions under which the work is to be performed, and correlated Bidder's observations with the requirements of the bidding documents. Each proposal must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check, or draft for five (5) percent of the amount of the bid, such check to be certified or issued by either a State or National bank domiciled within this State and payable to the Brandon Valley School District 49-2, or in lieu thereof, a bid bond for ten (10) percent of the amount of the bid, such bond to be issued by a surety authorized to do business in this state payable to the Brandon Valley School District 49-2. This sum is a guarantee that if the proposal is accepted, a contract will be entered into and its performance properly secured. The Brandon Valley School District 49-2 reserves the right to retain the bid security of the three lowest bidders for a period not to exceed 30 days after the date and time set for opening of the bids. The Brandon Valley School District 49-2 reserves the right to reject any or all bids or any parts thereof.
