The City of Lake Geneva is soliciting sealed proposals for the construction of a pier system in the City's Lagoon, situated along Wrigley Drive. The Project area is located to the east of Wrigley Bridge, along the south and east sides of the lagoon, near the slipway, seawall and dam. The City of Lake Geneva is exempt from Federal Excise Tax and States Sales Tax, therefore proposals shall be exclusive of these taxes; the City of Lake Geneva will furnish a tax-exempt certificate to the successful proposer. Proposals must be sealed and submitted in the attached proposal form. The City of Lake Geneva is not responsible for late or misdirected mail or cartage; thus, hand delivery is recommended. The Proposer shall NOT contact any City of Lake Geneva official or elected representative other than the contact person(s) named in this notice. Contact or discussion with any other City of Lake Geneva official or elected representative shall be grounds for disqualification. The successful Proposer shall properly hold the City of Lake Geneva harmless from all damage occurring in any way due to the proposer's acts or negligence, or that of his employees, agents or works. A current Certificate of Insurance is required of the successful vendor. This bid is to be all inclusive for the completion of the work required to have a fully functional lagoon pier. No part or parts of this work is to be 'done by' others. Letting of the work described herein is subject to the provisions of Sections 62.15, 66.0901, and 66.0903 of the Wisconsin State Statutes and all applicable local, state and federal requirements pertaining to public works projects. Bids will not be considered unless accompanied by a Certified Check, Bid Bond, Cashier's Check, or Money Order equal to at least 5% of the total bid amount, payable to the City of Lake Geneva. This serves as a guarantee that, if the proposer's bid is accepted, the contractor will execute and submit the Contract and required Insurance Certificates within the timeframe specified by the City of Lake Geneva. The City of Lake Geneva reserves the right to accept the lowest responsible bid. The decision to accept or reject any bid is final and binding on all proposers, with no recourse for rejected Proposers against the City of Lake Geneva.
