Joplin Schools is soliciting sealed bids for asphalt crack sealing, sealcoat & striping at various locations. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time. (C) Parking lot surfaces shall be cleaned and free of any standing water and foreign materials by contractor immediately prior to seal coat application. (C) Cleaning is to be done per the sealcoat manufacturer for product application and longevity. (C) Crack Seal o o o o All cracks greater than '/s" should be crack sealed. All cracks are to be free of all vegetation, dust and debris all the way to the bottom ofthe crack All cracks MUST be dry to ensure proper adhesion ofthe sealant material All cracks should be cleaned using hot compressed air or a crack router to maximize adhesion of the sealant (R) Refined Tar Emulsion sealcoat has been chosen as the acceptable product to be used for this project. Project is based on the use ofBlack Diamond Pavement Sealer or equivalent. Sealcoat is to be used at a minimum rate of .22 - .28 gallons per square yards with a minimum of 2 coats. Product must be mixed and applied per manufacturers recommendations (C) Cleaned cracks shall be filled with hot applied rubber asphalt crack sealer. Project is based on the use of Right Point Crack Sealant or approved equivalent Crafco Asphalt Rubber 233 or NuvoCS. o All existing pavement markings, fire lanes and parking striping within the project area will be repainted as they currently exist with a quick drying traffic rated paint applied in a minimum oftwo coats. o Provide documentation on brand and specifications of proposed crack sealant and sealcoating with the bid. (C) Submittals on all products must be submitted and approved before commencing work. This project consists of cleaning, asphalt crack sealing, sealcoat, and striping, at the following locations: Base Bid- Cecil Floyd Elementary 2201 W 24"' St., Stapleton Elementary 101 East 41s1 St., and Alternate Bid locations- Food Service Warehouse 1420 Broadway; all situated in Joplin, Missouri.
