The gymnasium at the Northwest Recreation Center is approximately 6,138 square feet. All bidders are expected in their response, to provide the process that they will sand, refinish and paint the floors. The omission of specific reference to any material, equipment, or labor necessary for such a job shall not be interpreted as relieving the contractor from furnishing such materials or labor. The minimum must be adhered to for the following: 2) Sanding, Refinishing & Painting Gym Floor Specifications: o Clean the floor thoroughly ensuring that all foreign matters have been removed. o Sand the entire floor with heavy power sanders. o Use progressively higher grit sandpapers for each cut. o At the completion of sanding, vendor shall vacuum and clean floors. o Re-inspect to ensure no damage took place. Report damage to Esther Esquivel. o Cover all sleeves to ensure they are not coated with finish. o Apply the first coat of sanding seal using VOC compliant sanding sealer. o Clean floor and add a second coat of sealer. o Screen or use other techniques to ensure a smooth floor. o Clean entire surface. o Paint game lines listed below for basketball, volleyball and pickleball courts. Colors must be consistent with the colors listed in these specifications. o Abrade paint as necessary. o Clean floor surface. o Tack rag the floor. o Apply first coat or finish to ensure bonding. o Apply second coat. o Finished floor will have a uniform smooth appearance with no visible swirl marks Sand and Refinish Gym floor o Two (2) coats of water-based sealer o Two (2) coats of water-based finish. o Gym Floor Dimensions: i. 62' x 99' approx.. 6,138 sqftB.
