A detailed Scope of Services (SOS) is set forth in this RFQ. Clayton County is requesting competitive quotes from qualified Bidders for Sod Installation at the Flint River Community Center. Question Deadline 02/11/2025 at 5:00 PM ET Questions are submitted online : Yes . General Requirements - Insurance Required Award Requirements - All or None Award GENERAL 3.1. Site Preparation: 3.1.1. The Bidder shall clear the designated areas of all existing vegetation, debris, and obstructions around all drains prior to sod installation. 3.1.2. The Bidder shall grade the site to ensure proper drainage and uniform surface contours. 3.1.3. The Bidder shall remove any large rocks, roots, or unsuitable materials from the site. 3.1.4. The Bidder shall conduct soil testing if required to confirm compatibility for sod installation. 3.2. Topsoil Installation (if applicable): 3.2.1. The Bidder shall provide and install nutrient-rich, screened topsoil across the designated areas. 3.2.2. The Bidder shall spread topsoil to a uniform depth of 4 to 6 inches. 3.2.3. The Bidder shall level and compact the topsoil to create a stable base for sod installation. 3.3. Irrigation System Check: 3.3.1. The Bidder shall inspect the existing irrigation system for functionality, coverage, and water pressure. 3.3.2. The Bidder should repair or replace damaged sprinkler heads, valves, or piping as necessary. 3.3.3. The Bidder shall adjust the irrigation system for even coverage across the sod installation area. 3.3.4. The Bidder shall test the system to ensure proper operation before sod installation. Sod Installation 3.4.1. The Bidder shall provide and install (Twenty-five thousand) 25,000 square feet of high-quality sod suitable for the local climate and site conditions. 3.4.2. The Bidder shall lay sod in staggered rows with tight seams to minimize gaps. 3.4.3. The Bidder shall trim edges neatly around pathways, landscaping, and other boundaries. 3.4.4. The Bidder shall roll the sod to ensure proper soil contact and a level surface. 3.5. Post-Installation Maintenance 3.5.1. The Bidder shall water the sod immediately after installation to establish root contact. 3.5.2. The Bidder shall ensure thorough and consistent watering for the first two weeks following installation. 3.5.3. The Bidder shall provide rolling services to eliminate air pockets and ensure firm sod placement.
