1.1. Summary The City of Hollywood, Florida (City) is seeking bids from qualified and experienced firms, hereinafter referred to as the Contractor or Bidder, to provide roof repairs at the City of Hollywood Wastewater Treatment Plant, in accordance with the terms, conditions, and specifications contained in this solicitation. 1.2. Background The City of Hollywood is a beachfront community located in southeastern Broward County midway between Miami and Fort Lauderdale. Founded by Joseph Young in 1925, Hollywood is approximately 30 square miles in size and is Broward's third-largest municipality with a population of roughly 153,000 residents. Hollywood also provides easy access to Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport and Miami International Airport, a major gateway to Latin America. Hollywood also is home to the Memorial Healthcare System, the nation's fifth-largest healthcare network, its flagship hospital, Memorial Regional, and the Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital, the largest free-standing children's healthcare facility in Broward County. 1.3. Roof Leak Repairs: o Identify and repair defects causing leaks in the roofs. B. Drainage System Repairs: o Repair or replace roof drainage pipes and any associated components. C. Metal Roof Panel Replacement: o Replace missing or damaged metal roofing panels. D. Flashing Repairs: o Repair or replace damaged metal roof/eave flashing. E. Gravel Removal: o Sweep away and remove old roof gravel. F. Roof Surface Preparation: o Clean and prepare the roof to receive new gravel and hot tar. G. Debris Removal: o Remove all debris and materials after work completion, ensuring a clean site. H. Roof Maintenance: o Provide roof maintenance services as required.
