Construction Range: $100,000 - $500,000. The University of Alaska is seeking bids for the Utilities University Park Condensate Pipe Replacement project. The Work consists of the removal and replacement of approximately 550 feet of existing condensate piping with pre-insulated carbon steel pipe. All work involves buried piping from Manhole 2 to Manhole 3 and from Manhole 3 to the University Park Building condensate pipe entrance. An Additive Alternate is present for providing an anti-corrosion protective coating on the exterior of the condensate carrier piping. Bidders are advised that the University of Alaska has a procedure for accepting alternate products or systems prior to bid opening. Acceptance of substitutions after award is limited. See Instructions to Bidders and the General Conditions. Funding for this project is available. Bidders must register through the website to be notified of addenda. The bidder is responsible for periodically checking the site for addenda or additional information for the project. Bid security is required to be submitted with each bid in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. State law requires a bid to be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible "Alaska Bidder" after bidder's preferences and Alaska Products Preferences have been applied. The University of Alaska reserves the right to reject any or all bids, offers, or parts thereof it deems necessary, to waive any informality in the bid or offer received, and to award in the best interest of the University. The Contract must be signed by the Bidder whose bid is identified as the apparent low bid and returned within ten (10) calendar days of the contractor's receipt of written Notice-of-Intent-to Award Contract, together with a payment bond and performance bond on forms provided by the Owner and certificates of insurance showing the different type of coverages and limits as required. Within ten (10) days of the receipt of written Notice-of-Intent-To-Award, the Contractor shall furnish a Performance Bond on a form provided by the Owner in an amount at least equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract sum as security for the faithful performance of this Contract and also a Payment Bond in an amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract sum. Said surety shall be licensed to do business in the State of Alaska and shall be listed as a surety acceptable on federal bonds by the U.S. Department of the Treasury in Treasury Circular 570. Each bond must meet federal Miller Act requirements and must be approved by the Owner. *The value for this project is based on a financial range.
