Demolition, site work, renovation and addition to a fire / police facility in West Bloomfield, Michigan. Completed plans call for the addition of a fire / police facility; for the demolition of a fire / police facility; for the renovation of a fire / police facility; and for site work for a fire / police facility.

The Charter Township of West Bloomfield, Michigan is requesting Proposals and Statements of Qualification for a Construction Manager as Constructor (CMC) where the basis of payment is the Cost of Work Plus a Fee with a Guaranteed Maximum Price to perform pre-construction, construction management, and post-construction services for the renovation and expansion of Fire Station 1 from Contractors with expertise in construction of municipal fire stations. PROJECT. West Bloomfield desires to renovate and expand its existing Station #1, located at 4610 Orchard Lake Road south of Lone Pine. Fire Station #1 as it exists, is approximately 10,000 square feet in area and includes a three-bay apparatus bay plus supporting spaces, training room, kitchen, dining and day rooms, exercise room, lockers, restrooms, and an office/conference room. The Township has contracted with the Architectural Firm of PARTNERS In Architecture to design and manage the renovation/expansion project. PARTNERS in Architecture and the Owner Design Team is currently in concept design. It is expected that the design will evolve as the Township works through the design process and as the selected CMS offers input and critical information for construction and budget. It is anticipated that the existing station will be vacated while the facility is being constructed. RFP/Q Contact: John Donahue 248-409-1517. The CMC services will be broken down into two parts: Phase One and Phase Two. Phase I. The CMC will perform pre-construction services including participation in the process to determine project approach, project definition, constructability review, optional systems and materials input, alternative construction methodologies considering labor and material availability and costs, budgeting, completion of bidding, and the presentation of a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP). The purpose of this approach is to have the CMC expertise and input throughout project design and documentation to guide and manage cost expectations within the established budget and completion of the project. Phase II. The CMC's primary role will include contracting, construction management, field services, and post-construction services for the FS No. 1 renovation/expansion project.
