Site work and new construction of a fitness / recreation center in Forteau, Newfoundland. Completed plans call for the construction of a fitness / recreation center; and for site work for a fitness / recreation center.
Closing Time: 2:00 PM (NT) ** Please note that there has been 6 addendum issued for this RFP. ** Question Acceptance Deadline 2025/04/13 02:00:00 PM NDT The new Multipurpose Recreation Centre is to be constructed in the Town of Forteau, adjacent and to the south side of the existing Community Centre on Main Road. The site is the former location of a community playground, which has been relocated. The building functional program can be found in Appendix F. The future facility will be utilized for community groups and will provide space for council offices and meetings, community group storage, and multi-purpose community room space. The building is meant to replace the existing community centre and expand on the functionality available at that location. The principal components of the new program include a multipurpose community room with stage, meeting room, offices, storage space, washrooms, kitchen and other support areas. Exterior program will include new site access and building service connections. Development of parking is not included in this scope of work. Demolition of the existing community centre is not included in this scope of work. Site grading to be reinstated wherever it is disturbed by building construction or for the installation of site services. The project includes building construction of approximately 596 m2, with final footprint size dependent on the design. See Appendix C for the concept building floor plan. Building footprint is to remain under 600 m2. Building is to be designed with energy efficiency in mind. The building is not required to achieve LEED certification. The Design-Build team is encouraged to provide innovative solutions in all design and construction services to implement the goals of this project including, but not limited to, the following: architectural, civil, electrical, structural, mechanical, landscape, sustainable design, and other specialty design consultants as required. Energy modelling is required to be completed based on the Design-Builders selected design approach with preliminary submission to be included in the RFP response and updated analysis at 99% submission. Commissioning will be required in accordance with the Transportation and Infrastructure Building Commissioning Guide. A commissioning plan to be submitted to the Owner's Advisor in leadup to commissioning. Proponents will include pricing for design and construction of a project sign to meet all requirements of the Town, Province and Federal Funding partners for cost shared projects. Design-builder will coordinate with the owner's representative regarding location of signage. Cost for this item is to be included in the construction lump sum bid price. The maximum project budget available is $2,250,000.00 including HST. This includes all design and construction costs and all expenses and ancillary costs required to complete the project.
