The Dori Lane & Jem Avenue Sanitary Replacement Project Improvement Project includes the removal and replacement of two sanitary manholes, a new manhole placed, as well as the replacement of 160 feet of 8-inch VCP gravity sewer, and the placement of 305 feet of new pipe, including replacement of sewer laterals to the legal right of way and select building sewers, with 4 (four) ADA Curb Ramps to be replaced and select concrete replacement. A certified check or bank draft, payable to the order of the West Pottsgrove Township, negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (at par value), or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and an acceptable surety, in an amount equal to ten (10%) of the total bid amount shall be submitted with each Bid. This Contract is subject to the requirements of Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968, as amended, which provides that training, employment and other economic opportunities generated by HUD assistance or HUD-assisted projects covered by section 3, shall, to the greatest extent feasible, be directed to low- and very low-income persons, particularly persons who are recipients of HUD assistance for housing. Attention is called to the fact that not less than the minimum salaries and wages as set forth in the Contract Documents must be paid on this project, and that the Contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex or national origin. The Township of West Pottsgrove reserves the right to reject any or all Bids or to waive any informalities or irregularities in the bidding when, in the opinion of the Township, such rejections or waivers shall be to its interest or advantage.
