Site work and paving for a sidewalk / parking lot in Bristol, Tennessee. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
All written questions related to this bid should be emailed to bramsey@bristoltn.org no later than 3 p.m. on February 13, 2025. SCOPE OF WORK General Work consists of demolition and replacement of numerous ADA curb ramps and concrete entrances along State Street. All material and work shall meet current TDOT specifications and standard drawings. Quantities may change at the discretion of the City Engineer. Mineral Aggregate Base This work consists of furnishing and placing one or more courses of aggregates, and additives if required, on a prepared subgrade. Mineral aggregates base shall be Type A Grade D. Concrete Curb Ramps (New) This work consists of constructing Curb Ramps of 3000 PSI Class A cement concrete including ADA compliant truncated domes in accordance with TDOT Specifications and standard drawings. All costs of installing curb ramp(s), including detectable warning surface(s) in newly constructed sidewalk areas, shall be paid by item no. 701-02.03, concrete curb ramp, per square foot. Payment shall include all materials, equipment, and labor necessary for construction of the curb ramp(s), including installation of detectable warning surface(s). Concrete Curb Ramps (Retrofit) All costs of installing curb ramp(s), including detectable warning surface(s) in existing sidewalk areas, removal of the existing sidewalk, and adjustment of gutter pan slope, shall be included in pay item no. 701-02.01, concrete curb ramp (retrofit), per square foot. Payment shall include all materials, equipment, and labor installation of curb ramp(s), including installation of detectable warning surfaces. Notes: 1. Contractor will be responsible for all traffic control during the project per MUTCD standards. 2. Contractor shall be responsible for removing existing concrete and disposing of the spoil material. 3. Contractor will be responsible for forming the curb ramp and using appropriate safety equipment to ensure the safety of the general public. 4. Contractor shall spray a TDOT approved curing agent after hardening of the concrete. 5. Contractor shall be responsible for all restoration work related to the project. This may include landscaping using dirt, seed and straw and restoring asphalt and or gravel as needed. 6. Any work that has not been completed in accordance with the contract after the established contract completion date (or working days) shall be assessed liquidated damages (23 CFR 635.127). 7. Contractor shall be responsible for adjustment of all utility boxes and decorative brick located within the curb ramp areas. Cost shall be included in pay item 701-02-01. All Vendors and their contractor(s) must be prepared to comply with all state, federal and local requirements. Vendors are responsible for verifying site conditions. No allowances will be made if a Vendor fails to adequately examine a location before submitting a bid.
