Demolition, site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Long Beach, California. Completed plans call for the demolition of a 11,430-square-foot municipal facility; for site work for a municipal facility; road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
The work to be done consists primarily of demolishing and removing the existing Queen Mary Village buildings, foundations, and surrounding brickwork, planters, and capping utilities; grading, installation of new retaining walls, and asphalt. The Work is deemed urgent as a result of safety and hazardous conditions associated with the condition of buildings. Bids are required for entire work. Mobilization is required by Tuesday, April 1, 2025. The Contractor shall possess a valid California Class A (General Engineering) and/or B (General Building) Contractor license at the time of contract award. The City may deem any Bidder who fails to possess the required license to be non-responsive. Bidders must scan and upload with their bid documents, a certified check or bank draft payable to the City of Long Beach, drawn on a solvent bank in the United States of America, or a satisfactory bond in an amount not less than 10 percent of the bid. The original of the above instrument shall be submitted to the City Clerk in a sealed envelope and must be received and time/date stamped by the City Clerk s Office no later than the time and date stated for receipt of bids. A corporate surety bond in favor of the City of Long Beach in an amount not less than 100 percent of the Contract price for the faithful performance of the Contract, and A corporate surety bond in an amount not less than 100 percent of the Contract price for the payment of all labor and material claims, and Evidence of required insurance coverage as written in Division H of the Bid Specifications. RFI questions and answers will be posted by Tuesday, February 18, 2025.
