This is a design-build project for design and repair/replacement of the roofing systems of three facilities (Buildings B597 Gymnasium, B3045 CE Warehouse, and B754 Hangar 7) on Eareckson Air Station, Shemya, AK. Eareckson Air Station is located near the western tip of Aleutian Chain approximately 1500 miles west of Anchorage, AK, a logistically challenging, remote accessible only by air and/or barge. All three buildings are currently in use, to varying degrees, by users on the installation. Work will also include incidental mechanical/electrical work to facilitate roof drainage and removal/re-installation of any roof top appliance, grounding, and/or lightning protection system. Work may also include partial repair/replacement of the roof substructures to ensure proper adherence of the replacement roofing system according to code. Work does not include repair of interior building finishes damaged due to the failing roof system and scope will be limited only to work to provide a complete and usable roofing system. Contractor to review existing building/site conditions, available climate data, and USACE inspection reports to design a robust replacement roofing system to w ithstand local conditions w ith minimal or no significant seasonal maintenance for minimum of 25 years. Any contract aw arded as a result of this w ill be C2 DO rated order certified for national defense, emergency preparedness, and energy program use under the Defense Priorities and Allocations System (DPAS) (15 CFR 700), and the Contractor w ill be required to follow all of the requirements of this regulation NOTE: Magnitude is defined as projects with a ion cost between 10M to 15M.
