Company & Contacts University of California, San Diego Jessica Cuevas jcuevas@ucsd.edu Location UC San Diego Health - La Jolla The University of California San Diego ("UC San Diego" or "University") requests a written response to this Request for Qualifications ("RFQ") for selecting a GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEERING firm for the 5671 MCLJ OUTPATIENT PAVILION project. The proposed La Jolla Outpatient Pavilion will be an OSHPD3 facility located on the La Jolla Medical Campus. The overall project site area is 2.75 acres and is anticipated to be approximately 180,000 overall gross square feet based on a preliminary program assessment. Geotechnical efforts will include a larger parcel of approximately 5 acres. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, geotechnical investigation, environmental sampling and testing for the proposed Outpatient Pavilion site. Additional scope to include subsurface investigation, laboratory testing, engineering analysis, and preparation of a summary report to support the design effort. The University is committed to promoting and increasing participation of small business enterprises (SBEs) and disabled veteran business enterprises (DVBEs), subject to any and all applicable obligations under state and federal law, and University policies. The selected consultant shall make best efforts to provide qualified SBEs and DVBEs with the maximum opportunity to participate. Every effort will be made to ensure that all persons have equal access to contracts and other business opportunities with the University within the limits imposed by law or University policy. Each candidate firm may be required to show evidence of its equal employment opportunity policy. The work described in the contract is a public work subject to section 1771 of the California Labor Code. received prior to the deadline, please allow sufficient time for the transmission and/or transmission delay of the submittal. Any submittals received after the deadline will not be accepted. UC San Diego will not return proposals to submitting firm. Candidate firms shall comply and shall ensure that all sub-consultants comply with prevailing wage law pursuant to the State of California Labor Code, including but not limited to Sections 1770, 1771, 1771.1, 1772, 1773, 1773.1, 1774, 1775, 1776, 1777.5, and 1777.6 of the State of California Labor Code This project. SCOPE OF SERVICES The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, geotechnical investigation, environmental sampling and testing for the proposed Outpatient Pavilion site. Additional scope to include subsurface investigation, laboratory testing, engineering analysis, and preparation of a summary report to support the design effort. Refer to the included site map that defines the site boundaries. Please note that this scope excludes inspection services, which will be issued under a separate RFQ closer to the start of construction The project is expected to break ground May 2026 with an approximate completion by November 2028. The selected Executive Architect for this project is Hammel, Green and Abrahamson, Inc. (HGA). A CM/Contractor has not been selected at this time. Respondents are to provide an estimate for all anticipated geotechnical services based upon all documents referenced and current prevailing wage criteria.
