Lake Hope Restroom and Shelter house Submit all questions regarding this RFQ in writing to engineering@dnr.ohio.go Lake Hope State Park and the entire 2,983-acre park that lies within the Zaleski State Forest in the valley of Big Sandy Run. The park's heavily forested region is marked by steep gorges and narrow ridges with remnants of abandoned mining and iron-producing industries. Lake Hope Forest Park was first created in 1937 by the Division of Forestry. The lands became Lake Hope State Park in 1949 when the Ohio Department of Natural Resources was created. The park surrounds the lake and boasts a wooded family campground, nature center, and a variety of year-round cabins for families and gatherings of all sizes, including a large group cabin. The park also includes a dining lodge with gift shop and gathering spaces, as well as a boat rental and concessions building. ODNR is seeking professional design services for the design and construction administration of a picturesque shelterhouse and restroom just off State Route 278 at the location of the former park office. The design team will work with the ODNR staff to determine the appropriate size and details of the shelter-house and restroom, as well as layout the areas surrounding the new shelterhouse making the area ADA accessible, including potential connections to a small courtesy boat dock at the lake shore. ODNR has previously conducted professional design services for a preliminary design of a shelter-house. The selected A/E team will need to include a restroom and associated utility services in the final design. These preliminary design documents will be shared only with the shortlisted firms.
